PERMABOND TA4605
Harmonization Code : 3907.30.00.40 | Epoxy Mold Compounds containing by weight more than 70 % silicon dioxide

Main features
- Primer-Free Polyolefin Bonding
- Controlled 1 mm Gap Filling
- Fast Handling-Strength Development
Product Description
Permabond TA4605 is a two-part, 1:1 toughened acrylic adhesive for bonding low-surface-energy plastics, including polypropylene and polyethylene, without primer or surface treatment. The thixotropic system also bonds metals and composites and supports dissimilar-material assemblies. Microparticles control a maximum gap of 1 mm, while a 2 to 4 minute pot life at 23 deg C provides a defined assembly window. Fixture strength develops in 5 to 10 minutes, handling strength in 20 to 25 minutes, and full cure in 24 hours at 23 deg C. Cured shear results include 15 N/mm^2 on HDPE and 6 N/mm^2 on aluminum-to-PE joints.
Key features
- Primer-Free Polyolefin Bonding: Bonds polypropylene and polyethylene without a separate primer or surface treatment.
- Controlled 1 mm Gap: Microparticles help maintain the 1 mm maximum gap during assembly.
- Fast Handling Development: Reaches typical handling strength in 20 to 25 minutes at 23 deg C.
Applications
Applications include bonding polypropylene, polyethylene, metals, composites, and dissimilar-material assemblies.
