Main features

  • Slow-Drying Gasket Dressing
  • Controlled Tacky Assembly
  • Fluid- and Heat-Resistant Sealing

Product Description

Permatex Form-A-Gasket No. 2 Sealant, 3 OZ is a black, viscous, slow-drying gasket-sealant paste supplied in a 3 oz tube for dressing cut gaskets and sealing flanges, threaded connections, hose connections, cover plates, and other semipermanent assemblies. The black, viscous material is applied as a thin, even film and air-dried until tacky before the parts are assembled. Typical operational time is 4 hours, with full cure after 24 hours. The continuous temperature range is -54 to 204 deg C, and the sealant retains effective properties with water, ethylene glycol, gasoline, motor oil, transmission fluid, and sea water.

Key features

  • Slow-Drying Gasket Dressing: The formulation supports gasket dressing and semipermanent reassembly.
  • Controlled Tacky Assembly: A thin film is air-dried until tacky before parts are tightened into position.
  • Fluid and Temperature Resistance: The sealant is rated for -54 to 204 deg C and the listed service fluids.

Applications

Applications include valve-cover and oil-pan gaskets, flanges, threaded and hose connections, cover plates, and semipermanent reassembly work.
